SERER 2024
Blending deep, percussive house with live recordings from Senegalese musicians and vocalists, I create music that moves beyond borders and genres. My sound is a unique fusion where electronic beats meet the rich traditions of my ancestors, forming a space where rhythm, memory, and cultural stories come together. Through this blend, I aim to build bridges between different worlds and invite listeners on a journey that transcends geography.
My latest project, SERER, is a deeply personal and ongoing exploration. Named after the Serer people, my ancestral ethnic group from Senegal, this work reflects my desire to reconnect with my roots and better understand my bicultural identity. It is a reflection of my experiences growing between two cultures, and the search for belonging that comes with it. This project allows me to honor the legacy of my heritage while also embracing my present.
Through an EP and accompanying documentary, SERER shares my story of identity, heritage, and connection. It highlights the power of music to bring people together, telling stories that speak to universal themes of belonging and cultural fusion. This project is both a tribute to my past and a hopeful vision for the future—showing how music can unite diverse experiences and create a shared sense of community
